A free training provided by representatives from the Library of Congress and National Museum of the American Indian at the Smithsonian will be offered at the Alaska Veterans Museum in Anchorage on Friday, October 20, 2017, from 2-4:30pm.
The seminar is geared toward collecting oral histories for submission to the Veterans History Project (VHP), a national campaign through the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. Designed to honor America’s veterans, interested citizens are trained on the collection of valuable historical information. The training provides the tools and resources needed to create oral histories of veteran’s stories.
Anyone interested in preserving this history, sharing a story, or assisting in the collection is encouraged to attend this free training.
